Product liability is the body of law that provides for compensation for physical injuries resulting from defective and unreasonably dangerous products, such as Bextra, and from the failure of a manufacturer or seller to warn the consumer of product dangers. Normally, dangerous drugs are weeded out by exhaustive tests and trials. But product liability laws remain in case the evaluation process is faulty or compromised by conflicts of interest.
